1. Place your camera at Eye Level

Especially if you have a small laptop, your built-in webcam will usually point upwards during video calls.

You wouldn’t want your fellow meeting attendees to be constantly scrutinizing what you have in your nostrils or.. how many chins you have, right?

Use a few old boxes / books to prop up your laptop so that it’s at eye level.

It’s much better for posture too!

2. Soft frontal light makes a lot of difference

Your existing desk lamp should work fine. Just make sure it’s keeping your face lit.

Feeling the glare? Oily face problems?
Throw a white cloth or plastic bag over will help!

3. Neat = Professional

A clean background reeks professionalism.
(Also screams “I’m a responsible person!” even though the mess is outside what’s captured by the webcam)

Hope these 3 tips help!

But this is certainly not true. You see, stage presence is a skill. Meaning, like communication skills, it can be learned and improved through time and practice. So don’t fret just yet! We have here some expert tips and tricks to get you started in strengthening your stage presence.

Force Energy

Embrace Your Inner Jedi. Speak Using The Force.

“For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us.”
– Yoda

Why is it that when some characters like Jar Jar Binks speak, we get mildly irritated; but when characters like Yoda says something, everyone’s all ears?

Why is it that we feel more stirred by Supreme Leader Snoke speaking through his hologram than by General Hux addressing his First Order contingents?

Captain America (aka Steve Rogers) and Iron Man (aka Tony Stark) are battling it out in cinemas all over the world this very moment.

I’ve caught the movie and it’s freakin’ epic – well-paced storylines, brilliantly executed teases & secret revelations, and swashbuckling action scenes that draw your exclamations, cheers and fistpumps. Go watch it!

Presence

Why Having Presence is Important While Speaking

We all have that friend who exudes presence every single time.

He (or she) may very well be the loudest and the most boisterous in the room.
But sometimes, he (or she) can also be the most unassuming, yet somehow very noticeable person in the crowd.

So, what is Presence?
